WHAT IS
A C.H.E.K. PRACTITIONER?
| A
C.H.E.K Practitioner is a person who is an intern of the C.H.E.K.
Institute (California, USA) run by CEO Paul Chek. As the body
is so multi-faceted, his extensive experience led him to create
a 4-5 year program based on his methods that deal with everything
from the physical to the spiritual.
A
C.H.E.K. practitioner takes a holistic approach to their assessment,
education and training of their clients / patients. C.H.E.K Practitioners
understand that the human body is a system of many complex inter-related
systems that all affect each other, so they conduct thorough and
detailed assessments on all the body's systems using questionnaires
and physical assessment before making any recommendations or providing
a program or course of action. "If you are not assessing,
you're guessing! The program is only as good as the assessment"

Depending
on the level of the program that they have completed, C.H.E.K.
Practitioners specialise in:
- postural
correction and corrective exercise
-
eliminating back pain
- rehabilitating shoulder, neck and head pain
- eliminating knee pain
- high performance sports specific exercise prescription
- holistic nutrition and lifestyle education
- eliminating recurring injuries
- analysis of posture, muscle length tensions, joint
ranges of motion, and abdominal function
- a Primal Movement ® Patterns analysis, gait analysis, dynamic
stability assessment.
- an ability to assess beyond the scope of many other health professionals.
Assessing goals, willingness to change, medical history, hydration
levels, dietary habits, sleep patterns, stress, toxicity, internal
organ and endocrine health and emotional factors are a few things
focused on.
- knowing who to refer to in collaboration with their own prescription
and knowing who to refer you to when they cannot help you. |

Triple
S has incorporated the C.H.E.K. approach to involve between 3-6
hours of education and assessments depending on the level of Triple
S trainer that they are.
All
C.H.E.K. professionals are taught and encouraged to lead by example.
They are typically fit, healthy, intelligent, compassionate people
that happily engage in the life process. C.H.E.K. Practitioners
of all types are taught that information only becomes knowledge
when that information is used to change the lives of others for
the better!
Exercise
and healthcare professionals typically begin their comprehensive
training with the C.H.E.K. Institute by achieving certification
as an Exercise Coach, Holistic Lifestyle Coach (HLC) - 3 Levels
(how to integrate functional eating and lifestyle management practices
into an exercise and rehabilitation program for optimum results),
or Golf Biomechanic - 1 Level. With completion of either of these
courses, members of the C.H.E.K. Institute may advance, becoming
a Corrective and High-performance Exercise Kinesiology Specialist
(4 levels).
While
all CHEK Practitioners come into the program with some professional
certification or license, they are all trained to objectively
quantify progress through the use of comprehensive evaluation,
treatment, coaching and program design technologies and the HLC’s
and Level IV practitioners share the ability to carefully assess
the relationships between diet, internal organ stress and lifestyle
factors and musculoskeletal pain or performance plateau’s.
These people have committed to extensive continuing education
and are indoctrinated into a multidisciplinary approach to assisting
others in achieving their goals.
Check
each Triple S trainer's profile for details on what level trainer
they are and what courses they have completed. |
