TRAINERS - JON RICHARDSON
Jon
has been passionate about fitness and healthy living from a young age.
Growing up on a organic self sufficient farm in the north coast and
participating in many sports such as soccer, football, sailing, rugby,
cross country running, bodyboarding as well as taking care of chores
on the farm.
Jon’s passion grew after he left school and decided to travel
the world. There he discovered new sports and used his great communication
skills to guide and educate. He started in Europe where he found a new
passion in trekking and lead tours of backpackers on nature tours. Upon
his return from Europe Jon was bitten by the snow bug and moved to New
Zealand to experience snowboarding. After a year of conquering the mountains,
Jon decided to get back in the water and trained in the mighty Kawarau
River to become a certified river surfing guide where he thrilled his
clients by heading down grade 4 rapids on bodyboards.
Jon then decided to return to Australia where he trained as an outdoor
recreation guide. He gained employment with a youth development company
called FULL ON. He lead groups of American youths on personal development
programs involving self-esteem building and leadership exercises.
After two successful seasons with FULL ON Jon decided to continue his
travels and move to his wife’s home in Canada where they spent
a season working and living on the beautiful coastal mountains at a
ski resort in the winter and a fishing lodge in the summer. Jon trained
as snowboard instructor and worked in a customer orientated environment
while taking complete advantage of the outdoors sports Canada has to
offer.
During Jon’s travels he noticed most people had the desire for
a better healthier life and he was inspired to share his passion for
healthy living as a lifestyle for people of all ages and backgrounds
and embark on a career as a personal trainer.
Jon completed his certificate 4 in personal training at the Australian
Institute of Fitness where he gained a master trainer’s qualification
and was the winner of the Institute Champion Award for all round excellence.
Jon is dedicated to helping his clients achieve their fitness goals
while also using a holistic approach to gain balance in their life with
great nutrition as well as relaxation techniques.
Jon is a passionate believer in creating your best life and hopes to
bring his enthusiasm and passion for fitness to every client he works
with.
